Crane Flowseal Butterfly High Performance Valves

Flowseal® High Performance Butterfly Valves are often the industry standard for bubble-tight, leak-free shutoff and precise modulation services in many industrial processing applications, including utilities and power generation, hydrocarbon processing, pulp and paper, and marine and commercial shipbuilding. The Flowseal® is a bi-directional quarter turn valve that rotates clockwise to close and counterclockwise to open as well as provides pressure-energized sealing no-to-low pressure applications through a mechanical "preload" between the disc and the seat. This Crane product line is made from Carbon Steel or Stainless Steel designed in a lug or wafer style. 

Cooney Brothers is proud to be an authorized distributor of Crane Flowseal High Performance Butterfly Valves. Our inventory of these valves is available from 3” to 8” in nominal size, however, additional sizes may be available since Crane makes this product line up to 48”. This product line offers the choice of soft seats, metal seats or the fire-safe version of soft seats known as Fire-Flow™ Seats. We stock Flowseal Valves with soft seats that are made from RTFE with an encapsulated elastomeric O-Ring core for resiliency. They are made with either a lever handle or a gear operator, but Crane also designs Flowseal Wafer Style Butterfly Valves as well as Center Line Butterfly Valves with electric actuators and pneumatic actuators. Additional Crane Flowseal Butterfly Valve sizes, pressures, and configurations may be available upon request as well as various other body, disc, seat, shaft, and packing materials.

The Flowseal Butterfly Valve features a blow-out proof, double offset shaft with a straight or balanced design that delivers smooth disc-to-seat movement with minimal seat abrasion and a lower torque. The 360° uninterrupted spherical edge of the disc is designed equally for maximum flow, effective sealing, and precision control. An overtravel stop prevents the disc from rotating into the wrong quadrant. The PTFE bearings are bonded to epoxy-glass filament wound, and they are used to align the shaft, with high capacity, low wear, and low friction coefficient. The Crane Flowseal is also designed with a gland flange and packing gland to prevent leakage and uneven load distribution. Valves with RTFE seats, like the valves we stock, are rated to 100 psi steam service. These valves can also be used in Oxygen or Chlorine services.
