The self-operating HAT is a temperature activated valve that is designed to open on falling temperatures to keep systems warm during the freeze season. It can be used to control temperatures in glycol heat tracing systems, tank heating coils, sampling systems, condensate systems, as a sub-cooling steam trap and for countless other applications. This thermostatic valve is mechanically operated by a thermal wax actuator that continuously senses the fluid temperature within a system and will modulate the valve open to initiate flow if the temperature falls below the valve's set point. Once the fluid temperature increases back to the set point, the valve will modulate closed. It is available in 1/2 in and 3/4 in NPT and a wide range of open set point temperatures ranging from 40 deg F (4.44 deg C) to 200 deg F (93.3 deg C).
