The originator of press technology, Viega’s innovation has changed the way connections are made. Their system of press fittings has greatly reduced the amount of time required to make pipe connections: Not only is connection time taken down to less than 7 seconds, there’s no longer a need for burn permits or fire watches because no flames are required, no oily threading machines or welding equipment is needed, and repairs can be made to ‘wet’ pipelines and under flow conditions.
Today, Viega manufacturers a variety of products from PureFlow for PEX systems to radiant heat products, however their two most popular lines remain ProPress and MegaPress.
Viega ProPress comes in two styles, ProPress for Copper and ProPress for Stainless Tube. ProPress Copper is suitable for use with standard copper tube and is available in more than 600 fitting configurations in sizes ½ in to 4 in. ProPress Stainless is a complete system, with pipe, valves, and fittings. There are more than 600 engineered fitting configurations in sizes ½ in to 4 in, available in 304 Stainless Steel and 316 Stainless Steel.
The Viega MegaPress line also comes in two main styles, MegaPress for Carbon Steel Pipe and MegaPress for Stainless Steel Pipe. MegaPress is suitable for use with Schedule 5 to Schedule 40 standard Carbon Steel Pipe. MegaPress fittings are available in more than 200 engineered fittings in sizes ½ in to 2 in, and with the MegaPressXL line, fitting sizes are extended up to to 4 in. MegaPress and MegaPressXL for Stainless Pipe fittings are suitable for use with IPS size Schedule 5 to Schedule 40 Stainless Pipe. MegaPress Stainless fittings are available in 304 and 316 Stainless Steel in over 200 styles.
