The HAT/FP is a Thermostatic Freeze Protection Valve designed to protect water resupply lines from freezing. This self-operating valve continuously monitors ambient or water temperatures, depending on installation orientation and will automatically bleed off the cold water in the line before freezing can occur. HAT/FP freeze protection valves initiate flow when the thermal actuator senses the valve's set point, typically 35 deg F (1.6 deg C) and will remain open as long as the discharge water is below 5 deg above that, typically 40 deg F (4.4 deg C). This prevents frozen or burst pipes which can lead to downtime and hefty repair expenses while minimizing water waste. These automatic freeze protection valves are ideal for the protection of piping, safety showers, eyewash or facewash stations, solar collectors and piping, condensate systems, fire lines, spray nozzles or as backup/fail-safe protection on traced systems.
