Kunkle Model 537 Safety Relief Valves

Kunkle Model 537 Safety Relief Valves are hot water and steam safety valves that serve the dual purpose of relieving overpressure created by thermal expansion under normal firing conditions and overpressure from over-firing due to failure of electrical or other controls on hot water boilers, heat exchangers and generators. The extra-heavy construction and heavy-duty lift lever provides long service life. An isolating diaphragm protects internal working parts from corrosion caused by discharged liquid.

These Bronze Safety Relief Valves or Cast Iron Safety Relief Valves feature a Stainless Steel spring and Bronze seats with an EPDM Insert and/or a NBR O-Ring. They are available in sizes ranging from ¾” x 1” to 2" x 2-1/2" with FNPT x FNPT (inlet x outlet) end connections. Their top-guided disc assembly incorporates a resilient seal in the seating area, and the pivot between the disc and spring corrects misalignment while compensating for spring side thrust. The set pressure range is available from 15 PSIG to 160 PSIG and the allowable temperature ranges from -20° to 250°F.

The name of each 537 Safety Valve includes letters from D, E, G and H to indicate the inlet size of the valve. This product line includes:

Model 537 Relief Valves are overpressure relieving valves for Hot Water ASME Section IV services for low pressure hot water boilers. They are tested and inspected for pressure settings and leakage.
